Orizuru Origami Ornament (Assorted Colours)
The crane is considered to be a symbol of happiness and eternal youth. Many of us have heard the true story of Sadako Sasaki, a young Japanese girl who developed leukaemia due to the Hiroshima bomb. She believed that if she could fold 1000 paper cranes, she would be granted her wish to become healthy again. Unfortunately, She managed to fold 644 before she died. Her schoolmates folded the rest of the cranes for her and she was buried with them. We see the origami crane as a sign of hope. Our ornaments are made with ceramic and enamel, and they make a beautiful and thoughtful gift for someone who needs a wish to come true.
