The crane is a revered symbol of happiness and eternal youth. Many are familiar with the poignant story of Sadako Sasaki, a young Japanese girl who developed leukemia due to the Hiroshima bomb. She believed that if she could fold 1,000 paper cranes, she would be granted her wish to become healthy again. Tragically, she managed to fold only 644 before she passed away. Her schoolmates folded the remaining cranes, and she was buried with them. Today, the origami crane stands as a powerful sign of hope.
