Berry Meets Matcha: A Latte Love Story
Who doesn't love an iced matcha latte? Who doesn't love sweet juicy strawberries in the height of summer? What better way to elevate your matcha than with the rich red hue of a ripe Summer berry? Follow our recipe below!
INGREDIENTS
1 punnet of ripe strawberries, washed, green tops cut off, halved
Matcha powder of your choice
Milk of your choice
Sweetener to taste (we added 1 teaspoon of stevia)
Ice
METHOD
First, begin by blending or processing your strawberries into a liquid pulp. We used a Vitamix. Once blended, add the berries to a small saucepan, bring to the boil and allow to simmer, stirring constantly until reduced by one third and a syrupy consistency. Set aside in a clean bowl to cool. This will make enough syrup for about 6 drinks.
While the syrup is cooling, take a small jug and mix your matcha as per the instructions. We used a matcha collagen powder and used 2 teaspoons per serve and dissolved them in about 100ml of boiling water. Add your sweetener if desired. Stir vigorously until well combined and set aside.
Once the syrup is cool, take your desired glasses and pour a little drop of strawberry syrup into the base and fill them halfway with ice cubes. Take a spoon and use it to carefully drip the strawberry syrup down all sides of the glass. Carefully pour in your pre-mixed matcha. Top with cold milk. Enjoy!
This recipe really could not be simpler and it is so delicious and refreshing.
We love to serve it in our Ripple Glasses with our Wavy Straws to add a pop of colour and our Flora Spoons to make sure you don't miss any of that Strawberry goodness.
