A Breath of Fresh Air

A Breath of Fresh Air

Spring is here, it's time to dust off the cobwebs and breathe some new life into your home. Below, we share our top tips for getting your home Spring ready.

CLEAN. DECLUTTER.

At Habitare HQ we LOVE a Spring clean. Start by pulling a Marie Kondo, sort through all your things and discard or donate anything that you no longer need. Reorganize your drawers and shelves. An organized home is a tidy home, and you will be surprised just how spacious your home feels when everything has a place.

The next step, is to steam or vacuum your window furnishings, clean your windows and give your hard floors a good thorough clean with a mop and bucket. If you're feeling extra, you could even steam clean your carpets and rugs. What a treat! Don't forget to clean away the cobwebs from the ceiling corners.

Open the windows! Let that fresh air into your home! Fresh air circulation is the best way to rid your house of the last remnants of winter.

FLOWERS AND PLANTS.

Bring the outdoors in. You all know by now that at Habitare HQ we are a bit plant obsessed and our home definitely gives jungle vibes. But nothing screams Spring like some greenery. If you are already a seasoned plant parent, we would recommend getting a nice microfibre rag and using some neem oil to give your indoor plants a thorough dust along all their leaves. This helps them to thrive by allowing for improved photosynthesis, while also giving their leaves a lustrous shine. We love the neem oil from The Plant Runner. If you are not so seasoned... we would recommend starting with something relatively low maintenance like a maiden hair fern, or a snake plant.

Buy some fresh flowers! There is just something about fresh flowers that makes us happy. Head down to your local market and see what's on offer. Fresh flowers can be changed every week or two, and are a great way to keep your décor interesting and varied. If changing putrid vase water isn't really your thing, check out our stunning artificial tulips, and range of dried grasses and leaves for a low maintenance fix.

A NEW SCENT.

Bring a fresh new scent into your home with a diffuser of scented candle. We adore Hart & Co and our favourite scents are their Japanese Honeysuckle and Lime & Coconut.

CHANGE UP YOUR SOFT FURNISHINGS, AND DON'T BE AFRAID OF COLOUR!

A simple way to completely revamp your interior is by switching out your soft furnishings.

Start with your table: layer soft linens in terracotta hues with jute or woven materials.

Switch out your vases and group together different objects to create seasonal moments.

Update your throw pillows and add some trans-seasonal throw rugs in vibrant colours to get you through those last remaining crisp days and nights. We are obsessed with everything Bohemian right now.

And there you have it! Our simple steps toward Spring readiness!

We are so excited for the blue skies, garden bounty, picnics and joy still to come with what is left of 2022.
